University extension management in Cuba and Nicaragua
Abstract
At the beginning of the 21st century, the university-society bond becomes, perhaps more necessary than ever, because in nowadays globalized world the countries of Latin America are going through substantive transformations where preserving the culture of each people is a complex and diverse process. This article aims to characterize the university extension process and its management in Latin American countries such as Cuba and Nicaragua. Through the action-participation method in conjunction with other theoretical and empirical ones, it is shown that with quality management, universities contribute efficiently and effectively to human development. The results and positive impacts of this extension management of the University, in the community environment, are exposed.
