Abstract

Ruminants in the tropics base their feeding on the consumption of forages, therefore it is necessary to determine both the nutritional content and the digestibility of the food, in order to estimate nutrients and the amount used by the animal. Its growth and productivity are influenced by the existing climatic conditions, mainly by the annual distribution of the rains, which together with other environmental and management factors, mean that they do not fully reflect its productive and nutritional potential. The objective of this work is to analyze the nutrition of ruminates in the northern area of Manabí in the training of students of Agricultural Engineering and Veterinary Medicine at the Escuela Superior Politécnica Agropecuaria de Manabí Manuel Félix López.
