Drugs and the academic performance of adolescents

Authors

Abstract

With the purpose of analyzing the relationship between drug consumption and the academic performance of adolescents, in order to contribute to the reflection on such a transcendental topic, a descriptive study of bibliographic review type was carried out. The methodological strategy passed through the methods of hermeneutic and analytic-synthetic research. The findings allow us to conclude that there is a close relationship between low academic performance and drug use by adolescents. The first can be considered as a risk factor for the use of these harmful substances as a consequence, perpetuating a vicious circle in this way.
