The co-construction of labor knowledge in the transition to adulthood of adolescents with mild intellectual disabilities
Abstract
The co-construction of labor knowledge in the adolescent with mild intellectual disability is a cooperative, active and social creation process in the interaction of teaching and learning. The work refers to a diagnostic study about the correlation between the different contexts (school, family, community and employing entity) and the student in the transition to adulthood. A qualitative methodological design was made from the application of methods and techniques at the empirical level. Students from the special school "Tania La Guerrillera" in the city of Santiago de Cuba, Cuba are taken as a case study. The results obtained indicate shortcomings that demonstrate a dichotomy between the preparation for employment of the student and the intention of the Cuban special education. The need to offer new perspectives towards the job training process is concluded by considering their job expectations and potential.
