The good as an essential category of José Martí's ideology
Abstract
The present work is important in the light of constituting selfishness, until today, the deepest conditioning of all the ills of humanity. As an antidote to this is good. Its objective is: to reveal the characteristics of the category of good in José Martí, as well as the value of its statements, for the exercise of good practices in social coexistence and as the basis of a greater social good. Novelty: this topic focuses on the thinker, not as is usually done, linked to the major political issues- the struggle for the independence of the Cuban people -but to interpersonal relationships in the context of daily life. Qualitative methodology was applied, emphasizing the hermeneutical method for the interpretation of the texts from Martí. As a result, a systematization of the main ideas of Martí around the category of the good is offered.
